Is there a crystal ball? 🔮
It’s that time of year when all the analysts, prognosticators, bubblevision talking heads and everyone in between gives you their, “Best Guesses” what the market will do in 2024.
We’ve compiled for you the Master Table from their research including their end of year targets and the money quote from some of the best known research firms and banks on the Street.
Here’s the collective wisdom (or ‘madness of crowds’ as I prefer to call it):
Before you get too excited about the above or think these 7-figure salary ‘wizards’ above have some type of crystal ball, take a look at their predictions from last year. Nobody was close, and the ones that really missed weren’t even on the same planet.
The ugly truth is no one really has a clue about 2024 (or beyond). There is no good analog for the financial and social scenario we find ourselves in.
While anything is possible, you want to place your chips on what’s probable and the first rule in that department is to Show Me Your Track Record.
In previous letters I’ve set the table for what we’re facing in 2024. There’s a whole host of Tailwinds that merit caution.
So play it conservative until the cards line up heavily in your favor in certain situations.
Then move quickly and aggressively to take advantage of those setups as we’ve been doing the last few months.
